PTA

Waco Porter is a dedicated family man, married for over 20 years and a proud father to three girls, two of whom are twins. He graduated from the University of MO – Columbia in 2002 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (English, Sociology, Psychology). Waco worked with developmentally disabled adults for over 15 years, but decided to go back to school. He graduated from Missouri Western State University’s Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program in 2019 and began his career in a long-term care facility. After gaining invaluable experience, Waco transitioned to pediatrics in 2023, where he now works in a variety of settings, including Therapy In Motion clinic, home health, and with Missouri First Steps, an early intervention program.

Waco finds great joy in working with children and witnessing their progress in developing new skills and becoming stronger and more active. He enjoys treating young patients and strives to make therapy both fun and challenging.

“I really like treating. That’s my favorite part. I like being able to look around a room and come up with something that’s hopefully fun but challenging. I love a good obstacle course, or an intense game of keepy-uppy or a plain old snowball fight!”

The best advice Waco has ever received: “Try something else,” reminding himself that persistence is key. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys a variety of activities, including fishing, hitting the gym, running, biking, swimming, reading, and writing. Most importantly, Waco cherishes spending time with his wife and daughters.
